Most journeys begin at Penn Station or Grand Central, and if you arrive at the later you’ll be wowed by the building. The Meatpacking District was once home to markets, slaughterhouses, and packaging plants, but times have changed. Today you’ll find a mixture of trendy restaurants, clubs and boutiques. The Village used to be a bohemian neighborhood that drew artists and musicians, but today you’re more likely to find upper middle class families living here. Completed in 1883, Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Williamsburg has become popular given its lower rent prices. University students and young professionals have been flocking to this part of town.
You can walk along the riverfront for a great view of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and the Manhattan skyline. During the summer months, Bryant Park also becomes a popular hangout spot people looking to relax and even work on their tans. The Staten Island Ferry is free of charge and this makes it really popular with visitors who want to catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty from a distance. Battery Park is located on the southern tip of Manhattan. Having both lived in South Korea, we were thrilled to come across Manhattan’s own Little Korea. Coney Island is all about good old fashioned fun. The Cloisters will make you feel like you’ve travelled over to Europe. Central Park is massive and there are so many places to visit within its boundaries. We managed to visit Belvedere Castle, the Great Lawn, Shakespeare Garden, The Ramble, The Jackie Onassis Reservoir, the Alice in Wonderland Statue, and we still left feeling like we barely scratched the surface.

And that concludes a look at our very busy week in New York City. I’m still shocked we managed to cover so many attractions, but the great thing about this city is that distances aren’t very long and there’s always something really cool worth checking out around each corner. Have you been to New York? What are your favorite things about this city? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.

How SEO Has Evolved Over The Years

Of the many different strategies that are available today for generating targeted traffic to your website, search engine optimization is definitely at the top of the list in regard to being the most cost-effective. You can use PPC advertising to generate visitors very quickly, but the cost could be phenomenal. Trying to market products where you do not have a proven landing page can cost you thousands of dollars, but that is not going to be the case with SEO. Search engine optimization has evolved over the years, changing to keep up with the search engine algorithm changes by Google and other search engines. Let’s look at how it started, and where we are now in terms of using strategies that can help you get the best results.

How SEO Began

This all began as a result of the search engines being created They work by scanning the content on websites and will rank websites based on the keywords that they find. Initially, it was very easy to publish a web page or an entire website and have it rank at the top of the search engines without having to do anything at all. As people began to take the Internet more seriously back in the 1990s and started to create business pages to sell their products, this is where the search engine algorithms began to become more challenging.

How It Has Evolved

There are several updates that have been made to the search engine algorithms, most notably on Google. They have come out with one is called Panda, Penguin, and many others which are designed to prevent junk websites from reaching the top of their index. For example, the Panda update came out in 2011. Its goal was to remove what are called thin websites, those that either post very little content or are actually aggregating content from different websites across the Internet. This made unique content much more preferable. The Penguin update came out a year later in 2012. It looks for websites that have too many backlinks, or that have multiple backlinks from locations that are considered to be questionable. This was design because people could actually pay individuals to create thousands of backlinks for each individual page, pushing these pages to the top of the search engine listings. By eliminating these, many thousands of people lost their rankings, and their income, as a result of this update. There was another one called Hummingbird, and update that was literally a complete overhaul of the search engine algorithm used by Google, one that allowed it to present results based on location and other factors.

Now that you know how SEO has evolved over the years, it is clear that there are a couple things that must be done with every website that you create. It must have unique content. It should also have backlinks that come from reputable or related sources that are similar to your website. As long as you can comply with these two suggestions, and try to make the user experience as easy as possible, you can usually bypass all of these algorithms and rank your website very high so that you can sell your products or services. You could also visit the vivatraffic website to work with professionals in the SEO marketing industry.
